Easter Sunday here at New Life Children's home was similar to the ones in the US. It started with a church service and then the children had an Easter egg hunt. There are over 100 children here, so presents and baskets are impossible. The US Air Force brought the eggs for the orphanage one and the Medishare workers and Paster Larry supported the clinic one. The children had a lot of fun. 2 children in the orphanage were brought a wonderful gift. Hanger prosthetics/orthotics came by. Girl C and Boy W were casted for their prosthetic legs. It was a VERY EXCITING day!! They will go to the hanger facility 2.5 hrs away and stay there for a week or two to get their custom legs and receive physical therapy.
The baby that kept me busy during church. Awww

It was a boy's birthday so the paster brought him up to the front of the church and everyone sang happy birthday to him. Then, they all hugged him and wished him well.
The guys from Hanger came by and brought great joy to not only the 2 children, but to everyone who works with them. It's so exciting to know they are going to get prosthetic legs. They measured and casted them so they can make special legs for them.

I couldn't get the wingnuts free to adjust the crutches. The US army came to my rescue!

Boy W getting fitting for his prosthetic leg. He was such a trooper!!
The soldiers come every Sunday to play with the children. It's great for them and the kids love them when they visit... of course they bring lollipops!
Boy W was using a walker to get around. This is not good because it will not prepare him to walk with his new leg.
Boy W walks with crutches for the first time. He is now using them most of the day.
